2013 promises to be the best year for Mando Blues yet!

2013 looks to be an exciting year for Mando Blues. High on the buzz of a most awsome Christmas Jam, we look into the future with high hopes and rose colored glasses. Here are a few highlights…

The schedule is filling up fast. We kick off next Wednesday with Boscoe France and then look forward to the return of Ricky Godfrey as he prepares to represent Nashville in the band competition at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Next up is the legend Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie and Prisoners of Love fame who will visit the tent for the first time. We close out January with our new friend Lauren Zoeller who will bring her fresh take on our beloved genre to the tent. Looking further out, we have an evening with IBC 2012 champ Bart Walker, a Fat Tuesday celebration with Delicious Blues Stew, a Valentines show with Blue Mother Tupelo and a solo cd release with Jackson Thatcher, the young gunslinger from Cumberland Blue.

What else, you ask? Well for one, Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, this blog will be updated more often so you can make plans to catch your favorite artists ahead of time. We are in the middle of negotiations for our first compilation cd. We are working on a website that will accurately reflect the love we have for our Mando artists, and be a vehicle for news and events in and around the Nashville blues and roots scene.

Not enough? Need more? Well, OK then…

We just finished the first part of our Nashville Scene interview this week and word has it they will be printing the story in late January. Our new friend, Randy Fox, who is writing the article is also possibly going to write an extended version for a webzine based on cool stuff in the south. We look forward to his first visit to the show…newbies are so much fun to break in.

Omega Lab,the so-called eighth wonder of Nashville, is undergoing some amazing transformations. Growth and vision is high and mighty these days, so who knows what will happen?

Radio Free Nashville has let us know that they will be updating the homesite, adding much functionality and information about all of the radio shows in clouding Mando Blues. Check it out here

I am sure there is more but my veggie shepherds pie just came up and I am hungry. Salutations from east nashville and the Family Wash. Good Times!
